Deleted the Google Maps iPhone app. It started giving “Unsupported link” errors when clicking its own links. They still work in a browser

Finished reading The Island of Desire, by Robert Dean Frisbie. A book of two halves; the first slow, and the second nail-biting. ★★★★ 📗

Started working my way through The Book of PF, a nerdy tome about OpenBSD’s firewall. 📚

Watched Independence Day on Disney+, 30 years after the cinema release. Still very enjoyable ★★★★ 📽️

Pre-ordered a Framework Laptop 13 Pro. It’s not ARM, but the CNC aluminium case and haptic trackpad sold me. Moving macOS → Linux 💻

Watched The Shape of Water on Disney+. Life is but the shipwreck of our plans. Fantastic ★★★★★ 📽️

Watched the first Pirates of the Caribbean as part of the month of Disney+ we got last week. Good fun ★★★ 📽️

Watched The Thomas Crown Affair (1968) with Steve McQueen. Not convinced by the acting or plot, and didn’t really enjoy it that much ★★ 📽️

Watched The Martian. Subscribed to a month of Disney+, as there’s no iTunes rental. Lots missing from the book, but still great ★★★★ 📽️

Bought Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories album from the iTunes Store. 256Mbit AAC seems the best quality for the price #ownyourmusic 💿

Finished reading The Martian, by Andy Weir, after just four days. A very engrossing and humorous read. Time for the movie tomorrow ★★★★★ 📗

Finally finished The Long Way, by Bernard Moitessier. It’s good, but his first two are better ★★★ 📙

Over 20 years since the last time, I just caught Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair at the cinema. Fantastic to see it as one. Epic ★★★★★ 🍿

Saw Project Hail Mary at the cinema as planned. Not nearly as detailed as the book, naturally, but still very entertaining ★★★★ 🍿

Have put out my first real technical blog post. Also my first use of “info strings” for syntax highlighting 🤓

Got all my site files as html now (with .gz versions for OpenBSD’s httpd), no more php!
