Interesting. Thanks! And thank you for replying. :) Indeed, I don’t check for mention with twtxt. To me, twtxt is to share, not to talk: there is my email commented at the top of my #twtxt.txt for this purpose. Trying to create discussions with twtxt is nonsens : there are much better tools to do so (email, xmpp, …) @aelaraji@aelaraji.com @im-in.space@im-in.space
@prx@si3t.ch there is this ImageGoNord thing I’d found reading an Eww Bar article a couple of months ago… It lets you convert a wallpaper/image to conform to a color pallet, hope you fine it useful.
@prologic@twtxt.net Wait! That’s actually a Mastodon(.)social one! 🤣
@prologic@twtxt.net LOL fare enough! I’ll keep that in mind fir future twts … I hope invidious instances are ok 🤣
@prologic@twtxt.net Thanks! I’ll definitely need it !!
@mckinley@mckinley.cc I’ve just given it a try and built a signal desktop AppImage from source, since they only distribute deb packages… I’m actually quite impressed! 👍✨
@movq@www.uninformativ.de imagine remapping them to reboot and shutdown instead. That would be fun, wouldn’t it? 😂
Good night Twtxt!
/me have to get some sleep before loosing a leg or two to cramps … fatigue is real! 😅
@prologic@twtxt.net I see in my feeds header I am following two instances for you:
- follow = prologic https://twtxt.net/user/prologic/twtxt.txt
- follow = prologic https://neotxt.dk/user/prologic/twtxt.txt
maybe this is an issue?
@movq@www.uninformativ.de I’m personally using the android app as is. Didn’t set up my own notifications server, the default one works just fine I guess.
@movq@www.uninformativ.de can’t Ntfy help with that? That’s how I get my signal notifications (I think).
This guide may me of help…
Good luck!
Hey @bmallred@staystrong.run 👋 Can you see this? 🤔
@prologic@twtxt.net Oh! sorry about that! I’m ok with signal.
@prologic@twtxt.net I tried to but couldn’t. Also, I was prompted to resend the email elsewhere… Will do in a minute. 👍
@aelaraji@aelaraji.com I think you tried to email me with an encrypted GPG email? 📧 Unfortunately the inbox you sent to (managed by Google Workspaces / GMail) isn’t equipped with any GPG or my keys so I had to decrypt by hand, which sux. Are you on Signal?
Alternative message me on Salty IM (https://salty.im) at prologic@mills.io
- The “Story of my life” (the less serious answer)
- Being “The Black Sheep” from the old tale ? (the serious answer)
@prologic@twtxt.net I was replaying to your twt and thing got too long and messy, so I emailed you. I hope you don’t mind.
@Rob@jsreed5.org Coming from HTTP and discovered both at the same time, my preference might be biased towards Gemini because of the content syntax but I love both equally.
@prologic@twtxt.net hmm… it sounds like being stuck in a “Filter bubble”. 🤔
@prologic@twtxt.net Checking it out right away! Thanks!
👋 Okay folks, let’s startup the Yarn.social calls again.
- Event: Yarn.social Online Meetup
- When: 25th May 2024 at 12:00pm UTC (midday)
- Where: Mills Meet : Yarn.social
- Cadence: 4th Saturday of every Month
Agenda:
Anything we want to talk about. Twtxt, Yarn, self hosting, cool stuff you’ve been working on. chit-chat, whatever 😅
@aelaraji@aelaraji.com I think you’ll find it simpler to use zs
@shreyan@twtxt.net Nothing much, still trying to figure out a proper way to manage a gemlog and a phlog using Hugo.
Otherwise, I’m just exploring new tty stuff … Anything I should try?
prx parle de twtxt et dmenu https://si3t.ch/log/archives/2020-10-21.txt
@prologic@twtxt.net Awesome! I guess that fixed it. Unless @bender@twtxt.net sees otherwise LOL.
p.s: Broken mentions again?
.vimrc:
@movq@www.uninformativ.de You ARE AWESOME!
I was RTFMing trying to figure out how to set this up in my .vimrc Thank you!
:set formatoptions-=t in vim would stop the annoying line breaking I've been having in my twts... And I guess, that's it! Things are looking OK on my end.
@aelaraji@aelaraji.com That’s the trick, yep. 👍 I have something like this in my .vimrc:
au BufRead,BufNewFile jenny-posting.eml setl fo-=t wrap
:set formatoptions-=t in vim would stop the annoying line breaking I've been having in my twts... And I guess, that's it! Things are looking OK on my end.
@aelaraji@aelaraji.com Looks okay here for me, but then again I’m not as pedantic as @pedantic@arrakis.netbros.com 🤣
@bender@twtxt.net Yeah I’ve been having this problem for quite sometime now. It boils down to Vi/Vim/NeoVim inserting those line breaks automatically when editing an .eml file (if I can remember the file extension correctly) … I think Jenny makes use of those. I had to delete them manually until I was told that the problem was fixed after I added the charset utf-8; to my nginx config file. I’ll try and fix this next…
@bender@twtxt.net LOL! Been there, done that! I can go on for weeks without any of it. Not even a phone, I don’t have that many responsibilities to need one on me all the time. Life is much simpler like that.
@bender@twtxt.net /me taking notes for future twts …
Sorry for the confusion lads! o.o’
@Prologic@twtxt.net can you pleas fix this line in your twtxt.txt:
# follow = dbucklin@www.davebucklin.com https://www.davebucklin.com/twtxt.txt?nick=dbucklin
It is cause this weird effect on my timeline, where you are now called dbucklin
http://darch.dk/timeline/?profile=https://twtxt.net/user/prologic/twtxt.txt
@mckinley@twtxt.net I have a custom .tmux.conf that makes it very easy to use the multiplexer, but I agree, Zellij seems pretty robust, and intuitive. I like it! Tried compiling it, as with everything Rust, it failed miserably. Good thing there is a binary release I could download to try!
@aelaraji@aelaraji.com I’m definitely putting that in the list. I like tmux but I just can’t wrap my head around the controls. This looks more like a tiling window manager.
@bender@twtxt.net yeah that’s what I ended up doing but wasn’t so sure.
I’m always second guessing myself, wondering what goes first: the parenthesis () or the brackets [] …
The exclamation mark part was the easiest to remember. 😅
@mckinley@twtxt.net yes it is!
I’m using Zellij. I love how it works out of the box.
@dbucklin@www.davebucklin.com apparently Txtnish isn’t maintained anymore. if interested you could give Jenny a try.
I’ve never had to look back once I’ve had it set up with mutt following @movq@www.uninformativ.de ’s guide
@hecanjog@hecanjog.com I was a programmer for almost 20 years before I figured that out. Never too late.
@bender@twtxt.net Seems to be working! I’m using mdom’s txtnish and I’m figuring out replies.
@someone@www.davebucklin.com testing…
@bender@twtxt.net Howdy.
@movq@www.uninformativ.de Well trust me if I tell you that most of my past addictions have started with a “Just once” or a “24 hrs challenge”.
I’m reading through the Week Week In TTY thread you’ve linked earlier and oh-boy!
People went All In TTY and no X … I’m tempted! Although I do not believe I can last more than a couple of hours 😅 but I’ll keep on reading.
And again, Thank you!
@movq@www.uninformativ.de Oh! Thank you for the link! I’m checking it right away!
I hope I don’t get slapped with a “HTTP/1.1 426 Upgrade Required” there as well.
As for Netflix and Co. I can do without for the time being. I guess I have binge watched enough content I feel like I miss missing it. 😂
@prologic@twtxt.net I looked it up, couldn’t find a proper course/tutorial. 😂
@prologic@twtxt.net I guess, you don’t get to check the logs if you host your feed file on a pubnix …
@bender@twtxt.net I’ve dropped him a message earlier on Mastodon, will let him know if he replays 👌
@dev1ls@texto-plano.xyz First replay to your first twtxt from Spain! (I guess) Welcome back in! 🖖
my first twtxt from spain!!! wow im feeling good!
