i may have to slow down my pace with this heat and humidity. going up the last mile of this one hurt a bit. the outdoor runs have really been draining my energy, too.

@prologic@twtxt.net Oh! sorry about that! I’m ok with signal.
@prologic@twtxt.net I tried to but couldn’t. Also, I was prompted to resend the email elsewhere… Will do in a minute. 👍
@aelaraji@aelaraji.com I think you tried to email me with an encrypted GPG email? 📧 Unfortunately the inbox you sent to (managed by Google Workspaces / GMail) isn’t equipped with any GPG or my keys so I had to decrypt by hand, which sux. Are you on Signal?
Alternative message me on Salty IM (https://salty.im) at prologic@mills.io

@prologic@twtxt.net I was replaying to your twt and thing got too long and messy, so I emailed you. I hope you don’t mind.

@Rob@jsreed5.org Coming from HTTP and discovered both at the same time, my preference might be biased towards Gemini because of the content syntax but I love both equally.
@prologic@twtxt.net hmm… it sounds like being stuck in a “Filter bubble”. 🤔
I suspect that people who came to Gemini from Gopher are more satisfied with the protocol than people who came to Gemini from HTTP.

psh, was supposed to be a base but the damn heat and humidity really brought that HR up. the last mile i felt it and was done with only three minutes left on the timer.

@aelaraji@aelaraji.com I think you’ll find it simpler to use zs
@shreyan@twtxt.net Nothing much, still trying to figure out a proper way to manage a gemlog and a phlog using Hugo.
Otherwise, I’m just exploring new tty stuff … Anything I should try?

Très content de #fossil, qui sert actuellement sur mon serveur de forum et de wiki sans prise de tête contraîrement aux alternatives qu’il faut mettre à jour et configurer dans tous les sens. @prologic@twtxt.net Awesome! I guess that fixed it. Unless @bender@twtxt.net sees otherwise LOL.
p.s: Broken mentions again?
.vimrc:
@movq@www.uninformativ.de You ARE AWESOME!
I was RTFMing trying to figure out how to set this up in my .vimrc Thank you!
:set formatoptions-=t in vim would stop the annoying line breaking I've been having in my twts... And I guess, that's it! Things are looking OK on my end.
@aelaraji@aelaraji.com That’s the trick, yep. 👍 I have something like this in my .vimrc:
au BufRead,BufNewFile jenny-posting.eml setl fo-=t wrap
:set formatoptions-=t in vim would stop the annoying line breaking I've been having in my twts... And I guess, that's it! Things are looking OK on my end.
@aelaraji@aelaraji.com Looks okay here for me, but then again I’m not as pedantic as @pedantic@arrakis.netbros.com 🤣
@bender@twtxt.net Yeah I’ve been having this problem for quite sometime now. It boils down to Vi/Vim/NeoVim inserting those line breaks automatically when editing an .eml file (if I can remember the file extension correctly) … I think Jenny makes use of those. I had to delete them manually until I was told that the problem was fixed after I added the charset utf-8; to my nginx config file. I’ll try and fix this next…
@bender@twtxt.net LOL! Been there, done that! I can go on for weeks without any of it. Not even a phone, I don’t have that many responsibilities to need one on me all the time. Life is much simpler like that.
@bender@twtxt.net /me taking notes for future twts …
Sorry for the confusion lads! o.o’

@Prologic@twtxt.net can you pleas fix this line in your twtxt.txt:

It is cause this weird effect on my timeline, where you are now called dbucklin

@mckinley@twtxt.net I have a custom .tmux.conf that makes it very easy to use the multiplexer, but I agree, Zellij seems pretty robust, and intuitive. I like it! Tried compiling it, as with everything Rust, it failed miserably. Good thing there is a binary release I could download to try!
@aelaraji@aelaraji.com I’m definitely putting that in the list. I like tmux but I just can’t wrap my head around the controls. This looks more like a tiling window manager.
@bender@twtxt.net yeah that’s what I ended up doing but wasn’t so sure.
I’m always second guessing myself, wondering what goes first: the parenthesis () or the brackets [] …
The exclamation mark part was the easiest to remember. 😅
@mckinley@twtxt.net yes it is!
I’m using Zellij. I love how it works out of the box.
Pinellas County - Tempo: 5.50 miles, 00:09:06 average pace, 00:50:03 duration
this was tough. first real session in a while and with 91F temp and heavy humidity it was brutal. called it quits and skipped the last interval and cool down.

I might even drop to TTY to try stuff I read about earlier today.
@dbucklin@www.davebucklin.com apparently Txtnish isn’t maintained anymore. if interested you could give Jenny a try.
I’ve never had to look back once I’ve had it set up with mutt following @movq@www.uninformativ.de ’s guide
