Je cherche un espace oĂč publier une sorte de blog. Juste du texte. Un truc comme faisait rawtext.club ou midnight.pub, mais qui accepte les nouvelles inscriptions. Vous auriez des suggestions? #smolweb

In-reply-to » I setup and switched to Headscale last night. It was relatively simple, I spent more time installing a web GUI to manage it to be honest, the actual server is simple enough. The native Tailscale Android app even works with it thankfully.

@prologic@twtxt.net Yes I suppose that is true. There is an article on Tailscale’s site that explains it all quite a bit: https://tailscale.com/blog/how-nat-traversal-works

To me, with CGNAT, it’s a small miracle that a direct connection can be made between peers (as opposed to going through a relay constantly) but it does indeed work. I guess to host it at home you would need to have it WAN accessible, and if you’ve already gone to the trouble of port forwarding etc
 well 😅
Not that I could personally do that, but for those with static IPs etc.

In-reply-to » @bendwr and I discussing something along the lines of: Media I.e: How to deal with or reduce noise from legacy feeds.

The wording can be more subtle like “This feed have not seen much activity within the last year” and maybe adding a UI like I did in timeline showing time ago for all feeds

I agree that it good to clean up the Mastodon re-feeds, but it should also be okay for anyone to spin up a twtxt.txt just for syndicating they stuff from blog or what ever.

The “not receiving replies” could partly be fixed by implementing a working webmentions for twtxt.txt

In-reply-to » @bender I don't mind the character limit. If I hit it and I still have more to say, it's a good reminder that I should probably write a note instead. I like to POSSE anything that might have value outside of the current conversation.

@mckinley@twtxt.net, in your blog, I think a “line-heigh” of 1.5 (if I remember correctly you are setting it on the “body” on CSS) will make it more legible.

In-reply-to » wtf is going on with Microsoft and OpenAI of late?! LIke Microsoft bought into OpenAI for some shocking $10bn USD, then Sam Altman gor fired, now he's been hired by Microsoft to run up a new "AI" division. wtf/! seriously?! đŸ€” #Microsoft #OpenAI #Scandal

@prologic@twtxt.net the new product was GPTs. A way to create tailored bots for specific use cases. https://openai.com/blog/introducing-gpts (fun fact: I did an internal hackathon where we made something like this for $work onboarding. And I won a prize!)

The competed project is poe https://quorablog.quora.com/Introducing-creator-monetization-for-Poe which is basically the same idea. Make a AI bot tailored to a specific domain of knowledge. And monitize it.

The timing fits very well as openAI announced it just a few weeks ago.

Erlang Solutions: Blockchain in Sustainable Programming
The benefits of blockchain implementation across multiple sectors are well-documented, but how can this decentralised solution be used to achieve more sustainable programming?

Erlang Solutions: How ChatGPT improved my Elixir code. Some hacks are included.
I have been working as an Elixir developer for quite some time and recently came across the ChatGPT model. I want to share some of my experience interacting with it.

During my leisure hours, I am developing an open-source Elixir initiative, Crawly, that facilitates the extraction of structured data from the internet.

Here I want to demonstrate how

Still undecided between TiddlyWiki, DokuWiki, Bear, Benotes, Memos, my blog software, standardnotes, apple notes and more. I like them all quite a bit, but standardnotes, the only one that has reall multiplatform is so fucking complicated to host on your own and then they have this stupid offline subscription thing that allows rich text or the block editor that works like notion. I also found codex docs which is really really nice. Unfortunately they lack proper authentication. 1 / 2

In-reply-to » Looks like Google's using this blog post of mine without my permission. I hate this kind of tech company crap so much.

I have no interest in doing anything about it, even if I had the time (which I don’t), but these kind of thing happen all day every day to countless people. My silly blog post isn’t worth getting up in arms about, but there are artists and other creators who pour countless hours, heart and soul into their work, only to have it taken in exactly this way. That’s one of the reasons I’m so extremely negative about the spate of “AI” tools that have popped up recently. They are powered by theft.

In-reply-to » Looks like Google's using this blog post of mine without my permission. I hate this kind of tech company crap so much.

There’s a link to the blog post, but they extracted a summary in hopes of keeping people in Google properties (something they’ve been called out on many times).

I was never contacted to ask if I was OK with Google extracting a summary of my blog post and sticking it on the web site. There is a very clear copyright designation at the bottom of each page, including that one. So, by putting their own brand over my text, they violated my copyright. Straightforward theft right there.
