I have a friend that might lock himself out of his home if there’s a power outage while I keep removing apps and devices from my daily lives instead.
I recently switched from all the todo apps I used to sticky notes on my monitors and a pocket notebook for sketching and quick notes.
QEMU on Wayland unusable, because it can’t grab the mouse … I’ll add it to my TODO list and investigate/report it eventually.

Normal links are blue while images are teal. I thought I differentiate the two if I easily can. The underline of URLs comes from my terminal and is not tt’s fault.
Configuring colors is in the todo list. But of course, providing a sane default is definitely something I’d like to have.

@prologic @bender @eapl.me I think opening another file is a bad idea because it adds complexity to the clients, breaks the single feed and I think keeping legacy clients will be more complex to add new features in the future. A modern approach is important.
I'll be honest, I'm a bit tired of the fight around the direct message. Perhaps, we can remove it as an extension and use the alternative @prologic . My suggestion apparently doesn't like to the community. I have no problem with remove it.

I do think integrating things like Salty.im might actually be a good idea. I can also see a future where we integrate other things like todo.txt and calendar.txt. I’d even love to see decentralised forms of “plain text” voting too.

Yeah. It’s mostly a parser at the moment. But I have extended the calendar.txt to include todo.txt and a repeat syntax to generate future occurances of events and todos.

Sin un cambio en la forma en que se valora y apoya los proyectos Opensource, y no solo hablo de las grandes empresas multimillonarias. Sería una perdida para todos si acabaremos con un ecosistema de software archivado y abandonado.

Reading the original spec, I understand why it should be a .txt file instead of, let’s say twtxt or anything else. In any case it could be nick.twtxt to support multiple users in the same directory.
What is curious to me was the decision at that moment of twtxt [dot] txt. You have the text part twice 🤔. Like mydb.db or eapl_todo.todo. Nothing really transcendental, just thinking out loud.

@movq@www.uninformativ.de I’m all in on paper. In fact I noted down a todo item today on a physical sheet of paper when I was on the phone with a workmate. It then occurred to me that I could have just written it in a scratch file.
The parchment, on the other hand, might be a bit wasteful for just temporary ideas that are not perfectly layed out yet.

Aunque me gusta mucho el concepto descentralizado de ‘twtxt’, este año no lo he utilizado tanto. No pude tener a mi círculo cercano, con quienes surgen las conversaciones que me gustan, y por el que se da un efecto de red significativo.
También estoy buscando un minimalismo digital, utilizando servicios que brinden alegría, valor y un uso de tiempo razonable.
Aunque es un tema controversial, ¿por qué no tener una comunidad de personas con las que sintamos que el mundo (digital al menos) es un lugar mejor?
Quizás un poco idealista el punto, aunque la intención es que el tiempo que pasamos en ‘la red’, nos ayude a crecer como personas, a disfrutar el tiempo, y a vivir esta vida digital con sentido.
Por todo esto, el poco tiempo que esté en microblogging, lo buscaré en las dos plataformas que más conversaciones significativas me generan, que por un lado es X, para todo lo profesional, y Mastodon, para lo hipster, indie, idealista, etc.

@movq@www.uninformativ.de Non-ASCII characters were broken. Like U+2028, degrees (°), etc.
Turns out I used a silly library to detect the encoding and transform to UTF-8 if needed. When there is no Content-Type header, like for local files, it looks at the first 1024 bytes. Since it only saw ASCII in that region, the damn thing assumed the data to be in Windows-1252 (which for web pages kinda makes sense):

This default is hardcoded and cannot be changed.
Trying to be smart and adding automatic support for other encodings turned out to be a bad move on my end. At least I can reduce my dependency list again. :-)
I now just reject everything that explicitly specifies something different than text/plain and an optional charset other than utf-8 (ignoring casing). Otherwise I assume it’s in UTF-8 (just like the twtxt file format specification mandates) and hope for the best.

Even if it might sound a bit overdramatic: Having a “mostly working” dwl Wayland setup now is a huge relief. 😅 It’s quite the weight off my shoulders.
There are still lots of items on my TODO list, but if X.Org were to die tomorrow, I wouldn’t be completely screwed. Only, like, 30% screwed.

For the first time in months, I’ve completely caught up on all the tasks in my todo.txt file that were either due today or overdue. It’s such a good feeling.
Nos encanta comprar cosas, servicios. Tangibles e intangibles. Quizás a veces en exceso.
Nos fastidia qué nos vendan. Encontrar anuncios. Nos causan dolor las paredes de pago o que nos pidan unos dólares para poder pasar.
En años recientes he encontrado esta situación difícil como creador. Desde un medio donde todo debería ser gratis, subsidiado por alguien más, me he movido a lo físico qué tiene costos, inventarios, viajes… Quizás se aprecia más el valor del contenedor qué del contenido.

Instead of formal todo’s I have the option to create items in a plan in the morning that is valid for the coming day. Plans can be related to todo’s.
My todotxt done.txt file has over three years worth of stuff in it that I found important enough to put a todo in todotxt for.
