@bender@twtxt.net wow almost 6am damn!!! yeah i’m EST too :)
@ hey, hey! Looks like we are on the same time zone (EST). I have been awake since 05:50ish.
@ I saw some of your videos, and I can say you do do well at keeping the flow. Rambling is what most of podcasters do. Heck, even professional news casters! That’s to say, we are all used, and kind of expect it. ☺️
need to come up with ideas for camcorder videos… i have one but it’s just ‘talk in front of camera about fave songs i listened to in 2024’ and i wanna do more fun things even though rambling in front of cam is already fun af
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org Awww. 😍 Reminds me a bit of a gentoo penguin. 😅
i want to make camcorder videos with this girl’s vibe she is insane https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCg9isnie-qBpPIWx4ZQOnJw
good morning yarn friends! it’s noon here but i woke up an hour ago. much better compared to waking up at 4pm yesterday
Going to drop another bombshell: I don’t watch YouTube videos, but least those with sensationalist, click bait, titles. 😂
It needs to be said: Retrocomputing and old systems like DOS or OS/2 are fun and all, but a UNIX shell and its userland tools are the most powerful things I’ve ever seen. You can pry that from my cold dead hands. 😅
There’s also this:
; 1**3 + 2**3 + 3**3 + 4**3 + 5**3 + 6**3 + 7**3 + 8**3 + 9**3
2025
😅
Rode my bicycle into town. What the hell is wrong with some of these motorists!? Here in right lane traffic land, a car reversed out of the driveway on the left into the road and nearly hit me. And this happened twice! If you don’t fucking see, how about you go slowly and not just hope that nobody is coming!? The first one even decided to honk at me. SUV drivers confirming prejudice…
Well, at least I could help a lady with transfering her child in a pram.
@kat Only the schedule syntax. :-D
@abucci@anthony.buc.ci @bender@twtxt.net Sweet, I wasn’t aware of that either.
xt
out there? Does anyone know? I did not find anything for "xt/0.0.1".
Excellent, thank you very much @aelaraji@aelaraji.com! :-) It doesn’t set a custom User-Agent
header, though.
@kat Please do! :-) My brother made my penguin a Tux scarf one or the other decade ago when he was in probably elementary school: https://lyse.isobeef.org/tmp/tux-scarf.jpg
@bender@twtxt.net :-D Unfortunately, there is not much white fluffy stuff on the ground at all: https://lyse.isobeef.org/morgensonne-2025-01-03/01.jpg (And my brain is broken, I’d like to change it. I first called the directory “2024-05-03”. O_o)
@prologic@twtxt.net Are those just access logs? 😅
@ hehehe, I would say you are hooked! 😋
xt
out there? Does anyone know? I did not find anything for "xt/0.0.1".
@abucci@anthony.buc.ci first time I see it, so, thanks for sharing! I would say none of us will be around for 46^2. 😅
This year is a perfect square: 2025 = 45². Most of us reading this at time of posting won’t be alive next time that happens since 46² = 2116, 91 years from now. This has been bouncing around the internet but for some reason I felt compelled to record it here!
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org /me looks at Lyse’s direction, full of envy. 😂
@prologic@twtxt.net can you explain more on that “all ingress is actually egress”?
Oh nice, it snows. :-)
xt
out there? Does anyone know? I did not find anything for "xt/0.0.1".
@prologic@twtxt.net Hmm, what’s this Emacs client you heard about?
@movq@www.uninformativ.de Unfortunately, there is no feed URL or nick in the User-Agent, it just consists of “xt/0.0.1”, that’s it. And this client was only active from mid-November until the end of the month.
It’ll probably remain a mystery, we’ll never know.
@arne@uplegger.eu Danke! Ui, sehr schön, das sind zweifelsohne hervorragende Upcycling-Projekte. :-) Ja, im Baumarkt Holz zu kaufen ist ziemlich teuer, erst recht, wenn man sich mal die Qualität genauer anschaut.
@prologic@twtxt.net Is it possible to interact with twtxt.net from outside? For example, an search API
@prologic@twtxt.net Yiha, that’s great news! Now you just have to migrate away from their DNS, too. :-)
@prologic@twtxt.net Huh. I don’t really know how Cloudflare works, never used it. I assumed that the main use case is something along the lines of Anycast (they pick a proxy/cache close to the client). Do I understand correctly that you mainly used it for TLS termination? 🤔
I want to share the video of my last talk: Creating an Instagram in Django for an Iberian lynx https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dW69cYIULh8 (Spanish) #django #python
At my job, htmx is the starndard. However, I think that HTML over WebSockets is better.
@prologic@twtxt.net not everyday, based on feed. They have recovery days. They do cycling too.
xt
out there? Does anyone know? I did not find anything for "xt/0.0.1".
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org No idea and I don’t have that in my logs. 🤔
Once again I glimpsed at my twtxt feed access log. Now I’m wondering: is there a twtxt client named xt
out there? Does anyone know? I did not find anything for “xt/0.0.1”.
Easy: 4.06 miles, 00:08:51 average pace, 00:35:59 duration
51F this morning with a bit of a breeze which was great. felt easy but i think the enjoyment of being outside brought my pace and HR up a bit. actually slept well last night and woke up refreshed… been about a month or more i think.
#running
@kat Oh nice, I’d love to see some progress photos. :-)
Gesundes Neues, @arne@uplegger.eu! Was machst Du mit den Raketenstecken? Bastelst Du damit tolle Dinge?
Thank you, @kat and @ionores@twtxt.net! Yeah, number four looks like a forest fire.
It was supposed to start raining this afternoon, but a rain cloud hit us in the morning just when we approached the foot of our backyard mountain. With the dark sky above us and wind speed picking up, we decided to take the next turn and head back. Luckily, the rain didn’t last long, so we paid the tadpole pond a visit to prolong our stroll. My mate told me that it was frozen a few days ago, but there was not much of the icy cover left today. https://lyse.isobeef.org/waldspaziergang-2025-01-02/
@prologic@twtxt.net There are still people who prefer it over Git. I mean, OpenBSD even still uses CVS. I don’t understand why, but they say it works fine for them … 🤷
@prologic@twtxt.net Yep, I saw this a few days ago. 😃 Haven’t had a closer look yet. But before I wrote my own editor, I considered porting SVED
. 😃 (Couldn’t do it, because they use features that my kernel doesn’t have.)
But why, oh why, would people still use SVN these days. 🥴😅
SvarDOS: DR-DOS is Reborn as an Open Source OS
SvarDOS, a compact open-source operating system derived from DR-DOS, has switched to using the EDRDOS kernel, marking a shift from its FreeDOS distribution roots. The change allows the operating system to fit on a single 1.4MB floppy disk while offering a network-capable package manager that can fetch from a repository of over 400 packages.
Unlike its rival FreeDOS, SvarDOS can run … ⌘ Read more
@prologic@twtxt.net I haven’t used WireGuard for a very long time. Can the WireGuard server communicate with peers without being itself one?
@prologic@twtxt.net to run that WireGuard tunnel you need to run the client on the same machine running the WireGuard server, right? Looking forward to your write up!
We had a faint yellow-orange-redish sky this evening. Only subtle, but it was actually one of those rare 360° sunsets. Just when I thought, that was it, it’s now over, the colors took off like crazy: https://lyse.isobeef.org/abendhimmel-2025-01-01/
A much nicer start into the year than all the hell yesterday. However, just as I type this, there come also the next round of explosions as darkness falls. Those bloody fuckers, please blow yourselves up!
@ionores@twtxt.net Opening the windows is the worst you can do with all that crazy smoke out there. But the music ain’t too bad. :-)
@movq@www.uninformativ.de This is indeed very cool! :-) Unfortunately, I do not have a proper hot glue gun. Would have to rig something up from timber.
This looks like something @lyse@lyse.isobeef.org might enjoy building: https://imgur.com/gallery/balancing-fisherman-tutorial-YNnsTh1
