I just typed something that took me a while to enter, hit post, and lost everything because I was logged out. Can that be disabled? Let me be logged in for as long as I want (or for a very long time), unless I hit logout, or account for the previously entered text, and present it (or run the post action), after having to re-login?

Pinellas County - Long Run: 11.06 miles, 00:10:28 average pace, 01:55:49 duration
although it was tough rolling out of bed it was a good run and i am glad i did. on the last miles i met up with joe and had a nice conversation with him. really made a few miles go by fast although we slowed the pace dramatically. eh, it was all relative.

odd thing is my sunburn from monday did not bother me at all, but when i took my shirt off all the sweat had been captured in little blister looking things on my shoulders and back (where i was wearing a shirt). they don’t hurt or itch but definitely were something new!

In-reply-to » Pinellas County - Long run: 10.01 miles, 00:10:38 average pace, 01:46:33 duration longer run than usual but this humidity is so brutal it may be long enough. took a walk break to watch the dolphins and then was almost bit by a large dog. talked with a few of the regulars on the path. i think everyone is feeling the heat! #running

@prologic@twtxt.net thanks! i normally enjoy the long runs because i just zone out.

👋 Well that was great! 👍 Our Yarn.social Online Meetup for the 25th May 2024 (after a long hiatic) was a great success! 🥳 Thank you to @darch@neotxt.dk @lyse@lyse.isobeef.org @xuu@txt.sour.is and @bmallred@staystrong.run for joining today 🙇‍♂️ It was great to see and talk to y’all 🤗

Let’s do this again next month! Last Saturday of each month 👌 The ~4hr window worked quite well too I think 🤔

In-reply-to » This was interesting: I didn't expect so much variation in reported times. If you happen to have #plan9 running on some other VPS, I'd love to hear your results. https://pdx.social/@a/112481970480703254

For my purposes, the comparison would only be useful to systems running Plan 9; if you happen to have that, yes please!

Pinellas County - Long Run: 8.48 miles, 00:10:49 average pace, 01:31:39 duration
might as well consider it as swimming. temp 79F and humidity 94%. felt great other than maybe a bit bored by the slower pace. really tried to keep it under threshold HR since we have a lot of kid activities today. not to mention trying to keep my weekly mileage under control.

Another thing that doesn’t work anymore after blocking network traffic from my Android phone: Some push notifications.

I run a Matrix server for our family. I use “FluffyChat” on my phone. Traffic from the phone to my Matrix server is allowed and chatting in FluffyChat works.

But I don’t get any notifications anymore on new messages.

So, what’s going on here? Does FluffyChat, which only really needs to talk to my own server, rely on some cloud service for notifications? Seriously? 🤔 How does that work, does this cloud service see all my notifications or what?

Anyone around who did app development on Android? Can you shed some light on this?
