You might have seen me popping up on IRC. This is how it looks:
That’s EZirc from the 1990ies. (It says it needs Warp 4, but runs fine on Warp 3.)
Lots of this old stuff still works (technically), but as @lyse@lyse.isobeef.org said: A lot of it really is dead. There’s not much going on anymore in Usenet.
HTTP/2 differs from 1.x by becoming a binary protocol, it also multiplexes multiple channels over the same connection and has the ability to prefetch related content to the browser to lower the perceived latency.
HTTP/3 moves the binary protocol from HTTP/2 over to QUIC which is based on UDP instead of TCP. This makes it better suited to mobile or unstable networks where handling of transmission errors can be handled at a higher level.
Does anyone know what the differences between HTTP/1.1 HTTP/2 and HTTP/3 are? 🤔

relaxed running to flush the legs out a bit before bowling with some friends. both of my shoes came undone which has not happened in years to that was a bit odd.

Pinellas County - Long Run: 10.19 miles, 00:09:43 average pace, 01:39:03 duration
practicing 3 minutes running and one minute walking. not only for the knee but also for the PTC (~46.6 miles) coming in about 17 weeks. the knee actually hurt a little the first 5 miles but afterwards nothing. not sure if i finally found my stride but it felt great once the dull pain was gone.

this felt really easy today which was surprising since yesterdays run hurt (knee). curious if the S&C beforehand helped things out a bit. it was hot and humid, but there was a nice breeze for some of it so i didn’t feel the heat until the last mile.

Pinellas County - Long Run: 8.07 miles, 00:10:41 average pace, 01:26:18 duration
at about mile 3 i switched to 4’ on 1’ off. this was because my left knee started to act up. kept this up pretty well until a weird sharp pain at about 7.5 miles. walked it off a bit and tried again but called it when things did not feel right.

easy run to blow off steam and test out the leg and hip. after the squats and lunges today my body was happy with a 10:00 pace. had some discomfort in the left hip at around 2.60 miles but it quickly went away. overall it was a pleasant run in the evening.

Pinellas County Running: 3.16 miles, 00:08:30 average pace, 00:26:52 duration
aiming for whatever felt easy. the humidity really was heavy with a light fog. woke up with no real pain and it was not until the end of the run where i felt a slightly sharp pain around my left glute and a bit in the left hip as well. thinking i need to reduce mileage a bit and try to train around it until i feel good enough to get back in to a routine again.

just an easy run after a few days resting the knee. had a few pings the first half mile and then it went away until about 2.75 miles in. called it soon after.

Sad to see moc
removed from the official arch linux repos, but also cool to learn the debian project has been quietly patching it and keeping it up to date in recent years. Long live the music on console player. (And debian!) :-)
I finally found the NASM assembler.
I had heard that name before, many times, but somehow never looked into it. Weird. 🤨🤔
This is the kind of program I was looking for.
- It is free software. Especially in the DOS ecosystem, free/libre software is a very scarce resource.
- It’s a small command line program, not a huge behemoth.
- Documentation appears to be well written.
- It can even cross-compile DOS binaries from Linux.

felt crazy relaxed and easy breathing. i did notice at around the mile and a half point (11:30 in?) my HR jumped. around this time i also noticed i had to switch to more mouth breathing because my nose was running. going to try to take note of this because if it is a fault on the watch side then i can not consider it a reliable measurement.

Pinellas County - Shakeout: 3.01 miles, 00:08:34 average pace, 00:25:48 duration
felt good to be running. little twinge in the knee but i do not think it was anything to note. the run was easy and just chilled with the music. HR spiked for some reason on the last half mile but whatever.

Pinellas County - Easy: 7.00 miles, 00:08:35 average pace, 01:00:05 duration
i know the stats won’t scream easy, but as far as level of effort goes it completely was. it started off at a decent pace which was comfortable and at the first crosswalk my HR was 129. i did not check it again until the next crosswalk (~3 or 4 miles later) and it was 168 or 170. i just kept the same pace since my breathing, legs, and overall feeling still pretty comfortable and easy. no knee issues. this was a great boost in confidence.

my ankle, achilles, and calves were fine walking but really tight the first 3 miles of the run (maybe the rope course?). kept it light for the first half then attempted MP or quicker. it was a little hard at times but comfortably discomfortable? all-in-all it was a good run.
