You can find the #twtxt-el channel in Libera IRC to talk about the twtxt.el client, I will keep my connection open so you can ask me questions. Thank you!

Oi pessoal, o IRC tĆ” fora do ar?
Yes everything fine from it: gopher://shibboleths.org/5/win31/irc.zip Screen of IRC client for Win311: https://dropmefiles.com/DD4t9
Hello Win 3.11! Can you connect over irc with chat.freenode.net/6697 -ssl ?
Who likes irc with chat.freenode.net?
So what are some good alternatives to GitHub, that are not based in USA?
I like the minimal feel of sourcehut but it seem you have to pay if you want your, not just submit patches to others repos. But they also got IRC bouncer and mailing-lists included. Codeberg also looks appealing being based in Germany.
EdgeGuard Update:
I am now in a position where Iām no longer having any ports open on my firewall at the Mills DC. š„³ All services (Gopher, SMTP, IRC, SSH, HTTP) are being proxied through my edge network šŖ
I have said this before, but since I have been back on #IRC I am talking to a lot of interesting people.
Can you recommend some channels on Libera?
@prologic@twtxt.net As written in IRC, several things turned me off. I donāt have the energy at the moment to wrestle through. :-(
Hmm, I just noticed that the feed template seems to be broken on your yarnd instance, @kat@yarn.girlonthemoon.xyz. Looking at your raw feed file (and your mates as well), line 6 reads:
# This is hosted by a Yarn.social pod yarn running yarnd ERSION@OMMIT go1.23.4
^^^^^^^^^^^^
Looks like the first letters of the version and commit got somehow chopped off. Iāve no idea what happened here, maybe @prologic@twtxt.net knows something. :-? Iām not familiar with the templating, I just recall @xuu@txt.sour.is reporting in IRC the other day that heās also having great fun with his custom preamble from time to time.
That ābrokenā comment doesnāt hurt anything, itās still a proper comment and hence ignored by clients. Itās just odd, thatās all.
@andros@twtxt.andros.dev Sorry I missed your messages to #twtxt on IRC. There are people there, but it can take several hours to get a response. E.g. I check it every day or two. I recommend using an IRC bouncer. To answer your question about registries, I used a couple of registries when I first started out, to try to find feeds to follow, but havenāt since then. I donāt remember which ones, but they were easy to find with web searches.
I donāt know. Maybe itās dumb secure for ddos and botnets? But it can be used not only with IRC
Remembered about one ISP which disallow IRC stuff on his servers. By searching i found what itās many ISPās which equals IRC to proxy and doorways. This is unfair!
Thereās this something about this Halloy #IRC clientās look I canāt find a proper word for. Aesthetically pleasing maybe? anyway, it feels nice.
@prologic@twtxt.net What IRC client is that?
da fuq?! Havenāt seen this kind of shit⢠on IRC since the good āol days of AustNet (now dead right?) when IRC was way more popular than it is today š¤£
#IRC #Porn
@prologic@twtxt.net I ⦠Knew it! 𤣠I was even gonna throw in a joke about it in IRC.
Hah, seems i cant connect to plain because irc+insecure://irc.mills.io also not work (my bouncer powered by soju)
Lol, irc.mills.io has expired certificate until 2018 year 0_0
Can you use IRC with ssl?
its offline atm, but my usual setup basically makes my xmpp server into a bouncer (biboumi) and my xmpp client just does its normal thing to read the irc backlog as server-side message history.
What are peoples #IRC setup? Do you have your own bouncer server or just have a you computer always on? And do you IRC on mobile?
āFu*** IRC maaan, all the cool kids are on Discord! IRC sucksā
LOL, Now substitute IRC and Discord with Gopher/Gemini and Web.
I hope you get the joke š
@prologic@twtxt.net Itās all Iām using ⦠I have barely touched any other social media since Iāve discovered Twtxt back in April š maybe a little bit of Mastodon and IRC, bluesky even less, but nothing else worth mentioning.
@movq@www.uninformativ.de Didnāt know there was a yarnd IRC channel!! hopping in to say Hi š
You might have seen me popping up on IRC. This is how it looks:
Thatās EZirc from the 1990ies. (It says it needs Warp 4, but runs fine on Warp 3.)
Lots of this old stuff still works (technically), but as @lyse@lyse.isobeef.org said: A lot of it really is dead. Thereās not much going on anymore in Usenet.
youtube.com/@eial4xs tem vĆdeo ensinando usar o irc aqui
Pessoal, em qual horÔrio vocês estão acessando o servidor IRC?
Oh Look!! Thereās a Twtxt #IRC channel ! š
Nos saudosos anos 90 não me lembro de ter usado IRC em terminal
@al4xs@vaporhole.xyz Qual o client de IRC que você recomendaria para usar no ambiente grÔfico mesmo?
I would love to see a world where ones twtxt feed is defined by webfinger. So @xuu@txt.sour.is => https://text.sour.is/user/xuu/twtxt.txt
Then my identity can exist independent of the feed location. And I can host multiple protocol types for my feed. Ie. http/gopher/Gemini/irc DCC/etc
irc? how are the dullards?
Searching for IRC? webchat. free
š Q: How do we feel about forking the Twtxt spec into what we love and use today in Yarn.social in yarnd, tt, jenny, twtr and other clients? š¤ Thinking about (and talking with @xuu@txt.sour.is on IRC) about the possibility of rewriting a completely new spec (no extensions). Proposed name yarn.txt or āYarnā. Compatibility would remain with Twtxt in the sense that we wouldnāt break anything per se, but weād divorce ourselves from Twtxt and be free to improve based on the needs of the community and not the ideals of those that donāt use, contribute in the first place or fixate on nostalgia (which doesnāt really help anyone).
the radio was made by the guys at SDF, and it has a channel on the irc.sdf.org by the name #aNONradio, and its true the dj is active
Iām listening. Is there an IRC? The announcer seems like heās interacting.
[Revolution IRC] es uno de los mejores clientes de irc para android.
Que difĆcil conectar con gente random en la red, los IRC estĆ”n muertos.
@prologic@twtxt.net Liberaās insistence on giving them an e-mail and my real IP address makes me really not want to give them either one. Otherwise, Iād probably talk in IRC regularly.
@benk@kwiecien.us I am using jenny (we chatted a bit on IRC earlier today). I have been using it for over five months now, I think. It is truly a joy to use, specially because you can use the power of Mutt/NeoMutt to read your twts.
So the evolution of my nick is as follows. I had a bicycle that had the word Zephyr written on it. Which means a western wind. That is related to the Greek god Zephyrus.
I liked words where X make a Z sound. And also had a bit of dyslexia so my firs IRC nick was Xypher swapping the y and e.. I would also use the forms Xypherius or just Xypheri.
Because its close hemming to Cypher I found the nick would get used by others.. Though that is not my origin.
Later I would sign websites I created as The X-Urban Underground (where X was short for Xypher) and that evolved to xuu. Pronounced like zoo.
š Q&A: Letās discuss the removal of Editing and Deleting your last Twt. This is something @fastidious@twtxt.net has raised to me on IRC and something I find quite a valid approach to this. Over time I believe the utility and value of āEditingā and āDeletingā oneās last Twt isnāt as valuable as weād like and increased complexity and introduces all kinds of side-effects that are hard to manage correctly. I vote for the removal of this feature from yarnd, the mobile app nor API support this anywayā¦
Looking at raw IRC traffic streams to debug a client issue and itās 1997 again.
@prologic@twtxt.net that would be an interesting idea. I think your current spec of using an SMTP proto is probably best for DM.
but having a federation of IRC servers would be interesting for realtime twt propagation.
@prologic@twtxt.net sometimes I think it would be nice to have a XMPP instance. then I remember itās all XML and I think ānah.ā
I am constantly in awe that IRC remains the only realtime chat that isnāt unnecessarily complex. name another that can run chatops bot with just nc and sh?
